I'm using Resurrection Signet on this thread!
I don't belong to a particularly large or PvP-oriented guild. In fact, there's two of us who are 99% PvE based with the occasional RA session. However, in the revent past, I often get to 7-9/10 wins and end up facing a synchronized party who grief the other team in to resigning. They often have a selection of Rits and Monks with a some spike damage and extreme healing/protection.
I hear that ANet are to punish (strong word) leavers in RA so what about sync-joining? They have a clear advantage and are undoubtedly cheating -why not punish these?
It's obvious when the other team have the same tag.
I just want some legitimate faction.

Heh funny thing is, you don't always need a monk to win, sure it helps but some times your better of fwithout one. I rmeember my first gladiator point was with a team with 0 monks, and one of the last matches was against a team with 3 monks and a warrior and we beat them hands down, in a points battle no less.

If you consider the points gained from synch entering RA lame then you should try playing HA between 4am-3pm GMT, its basically the easiest fame you will ever make, ive heard its similar with TA, you can win with half the team AFK.

I guess you haven't played random arenas? It is rare to get into a team that gets to 5 wins. Not because everyone in the team sucks, but because nobody wants to give it a shot. They either quit right away, or look at the other team and quit. Removing glad points isn't really necessary imo. People just need to stop being retards, and give their teams a chance. When i used to pvp back in the days before any titles, I got a 40 win streak with an RA team. I guarantee you, that nowdays, 8/10 players would quit right away, because our team didn't look too great.

Somehow, i guess the leavers problem and the sync'ing problem would be fixed if RA teams where random for every battle (and not fixed after you join). I mean, you go into a battle, win, get a new team, win, get a new team, win, etc...
That way, leavers would have no reason to join (because getting 10 "perfect teams" in a row would be almost impossible) and sync'ing would just work for one battle. Given that now you are forced to wait a little after each battle, i think it would not be that hard to implement...
On the other hand, making RA totally random could increase the rate of afk/bot-leechers (since they would automatically join onto a new team), so the idea needs some work...

RA is sorta hopeless really... in one of my groups we we're 1 warrior, 2 rits, and me, the monk. Both rits we're spirit spammers, the warrior was using a pretty bad build, and I was using a ''home-made'' ZB prot build. Anyway, we on all 10 games in a row because the opposing teams would litterally run into the mass of spirits...
Yep, they basicly killed themselves.. we had lots of skill!!! (lol.. no) Anyway, they might as well get rid of points in RA or implement the 1 pt per win system... that would surely reduce the ammount of leavers.. even if only by a little.

I like how this thread got a bunch of "stfu nub" and then the developers looked at it and said "oh yeah, it really is broken .. let's fix it" - quality player base we've got here.

Leave before/during battle (first offence) – 5 minute ban from entering RA, (this is not too harsh so as to penalise those few who leave due to unintentional/real life reasons).
On screen warning to be displayed after first offence, (manual confirmation required to dismiss warning).
Leave before/during battle (second offence within 10 minutes of first offence) – 15 minute ban from entering RA.
On screen warning to be displayed after second offence, (manual confirmation required to dismiss warning).
Leave before/during battle (Third offence within 60 minutes of first offence) - 60 minute ban from entering RA.
On screen warning to be displayed after third offence. (manual confirmation required to dismiss warning).
